Yanukovych signs law on visa facilitation between Ukraine and EU
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed the law on the ratification of the agreement between Ukraine and the European Union introducing amendments to the visa facilitation agreement between the EU and Ukraine.
The text of the document was posted on the official website of the head of state on April 8, UKRINFORM reported.
The visa facilitation agreement expands categories of Ukrainian citizens who are eligible for the simplified issuance of free and multiple-entry visas, improves the procedure for issuing visas to media representatives and determines clear periods of validity of multiple-entry visas.
The document also envisages the ability to speedily issue visas, within three days, to persons who reside at a long distance from the place of the submission of visa applications, if the urgent visa fee is paid, and introduces a visa-free travel regime for Ukrainian citizens who use biometric passports.
