EC cites Bulgaria, Romania as good example in applying Danube strategy
The EU Commissioner of Regional Development Johannes Hahn said Bulgaria and Romania were a good example in applying the EU strategy for the Danube region.
The first progress report on the work completed under the strategy presented by the European Commission indicates that Bulgaria is the coordinator in the field of culture, tourism and security. The accelerated construction of the Danube Bridge between Vidin and Kalafat which boosts the development of the entire region has been assessed as an achievement.
The Commission has also assessed positively the construction of the intersystem gas link between Bulgaria and Serbia – a project co-financed via EU funds.
