Total to extract first gas at Absheron in 2020

Total E&P Azerbaijan General Manager Christian Judiselli said on April 10 that Total will extract the first gas portion at the Absheron Field in 2020 and will present a program for development of the field to SOCAR in 2014.

3-5 billion cubic meters of gas will be extracted in the field annually.

The Absheron Field in the Caspian Sea was drilled in September 2011. It has about 350 billion cubic meters of gas and 45 million tons of condensate.

Absheron shareholders are SOCAR (Azerbaijan) with 40%, Total (France) with 40% and Gaz De France Suez (France) with 20%.
