International tourism, leisure, hotel industry exhibition opens in Chisinau
Almost 100 companies from Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine participate in the 18th issue of the «Tourism.Leisure.Hotels» exhibition, at the Moldexpo exhibition centre, Chisinau, on 11-14 April.
The exhibition is organised by the Moldexpo exhibition centre in collaboration with the Tourism Agency of Moldova.
Attending the inauguration of the event was Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar, who spoke about the contribution of the Moldovan tourism industry to the promotion of the country’s image.
For her part, the chairman of the Tourism Agency, Ludmila Dumistras, said the history of the exhibition covers the entire development period of the Moldovan tourism. «During its 18 years of existence, the forum became a representative platform both for the Business-to-Business sector and for the wide public, which is looking for the most advantageous holiday offer,» Dumitras said.
The «Tourism. Leisure. Hotels-2013» exhibition will focus on the multilateral presentation of possibilities that local and foreign touristic companies offer. The exhibition will also promote Moldovan touristic offers. According to Dumitras, Moldovan tourism companies will present achievements and development prospects of the Moldovan tourism in all the directions, focusing on the rural tourism, natural reserves, pilgrimages, «Drumul Vinului» (the wine’s road), museums and historical places.
During the exhibition, tourism experts will be offered the opportunity to participate in a string of seminars and a special programme, which will include a wide range of touristic destinations and holiday programmes for summer as well as a leisure programme.
The Tourism Agency also awarded diplomas and cups to the economic agents who contributed to the promotion of the tourism sector in 2012.
