Chisinau hosts Moldova ICT Summit 2013

The fourth issue of Moldova ICT Summit was inaugurated in Chisinau on April 16 and will last till 17 April.

Opening the event, acting Information Technology and Communication Minister Pavel Filip said that Moldova had made significant progress in the technology sector, which allowed it to be internationally competitive. «We succeeded to be among the first 20 countries having the highest Internet connection speed. As the pace in our society is rather alert, we make our best to face the challenges.”»

Attending the event, US Ambassador to Moldova William H. Moser noted that the USA backed Moldova as regards the vocational training in the technology sector.

At the summit, the Education Ministry will approach a string of solutions, innovative technologies and visions that will help adjust the educational system to international standards.

Over 1,000 people, representatives of the government, international institutions, educational sector, business environment, as well as professional programmers, students, scientists and opinion leaders from Moldova and from abroad will participate in the summit.

The event is organised by the National Association of ICT Companies, in partnership with the USAID Competitiveness Enhancement and Enterprise Development II (CEED II) project, the E-Governing Centre and the Education Ministry, under the aegis of the Information Technology and Communication Ministry.
