Turkey to grant license for Akkuyu power plant construction in 2015
Director General of the company designing the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey Alexander Superfin said on April 23, 2013 that a license for power generation may be granted this year and license for construction of the power plant may be granted in 2015, RIA Novosti reports.
Russia and Turkey signed the cooperation agreement to build the power plant in 2010. Atomstroyexport is the main contractor for the project. The power plant will have four WWER reactors producing 1200MW each.
The power plant will allow Turkey to generate about 35 trillion KW/h.
