New span of metropolitan under construction in Sofia

The construction starts of the new span of the Sofia underground to link Mladost 1 residential quarters to Business Park – Sofia.

It will be 3 kilometers long and would serve around 45 000 passengers daily. There will be three stations along the line. The ground breaking was attended by President Rossen Plevneliev, ministers, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova. The further construction of the metropolitan is carried on under the Transport Operational Programme, co-financed by the EU. The EUR 110 million out of the total of EUR 120 million will be provided by the programme.
