Russian Black Sea fleet vessels to continue sailing to the Mediterranean – Commander
On June 1, 2013 the Black Sea fleet Commander-in-chief Vice-admiral Alexander Vitko visited the anti-submarine ship brigade.
Making a speech in front of the crew, he has underlined that «for more than a year and a half already the fleet’s vessels continue performing the tasks at the Mediterranean, and such task will remain a top-priority during the summer training period».
According to Alexander Vitko, the list of the nearest tasks includes «completion of «Moskva» missile cruiser crew preparation for sailing to the Atlantic Ocean, preparation of the fleet forces for participation in the Russian and Ukrainian naval training Fairway of Peace 2013, and training of crews for new vessels, which are currently under construction for the Black Sea fleet».
According to him, the Black Sea fleet will «represent the Russian Federation at the activation of the BlackSeaFor marine group of operating interaction in August, and will also participate in the annual Russian ad Italian naval training IONIEX-2013».
