Poti airport construction suspended

Construction of the Transcaucasia largest airport in Poti is still suspended.

According to the representative of the airport administration, the plans of the investor are unknown. And the Arabian «Rakia», owning the project, has promised to present some new information next week.

The statement on the suspension of the airport construction had been made by the majority candidate from Poti Eka Beselia before the parliamentary elections in Georgia.

The idea of construction of the Transcaucasia largest airport in Poti was announced by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in 2009. The construction was supposed to be completed in 2012, Business Georgia reports.
