Turkey's air traffic rises in May
Turkish airports served 17.2 percent more passengers in total in May this year compared to last year, a statement by General Directorate of State Airports Authority said.
The number of passengers in domestic flights rose by 17.3%, while those in international flights increased by 17%, resulting in an aggregate number of 13,717,522.
Freight transport also rose by a similar rate of 17.5 percent.
Almost half of the air traffic in May in international flights took place at airports in touristic Mediterranean and Aegean cities of Antalya, Izmir, Mugla, and Milas.
