Erdogan will meet representatives of several groups regarding Taksim Gezi Park incidents

Turkish Government Spokesman Bulent Arinc said on June 10 that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet representatives of several groups on June 12 regarding Taksim Gezi Park incidents.

Speaking at a press conference held after the Council of Ministers meeting on June 10, Turkish Government Spokesman Arinc stated that they thoroughly analyzed the incidents upon Taksim Gezi Park protests.

He argued that they found out hard evidences indicating the incidents have foreign connections.

Arinc announced that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet on June 12 representatives of the groups conveying demands to the government concerning the planned bulldoze in Taksim Gezi Park.

«If the main aim of the protests, said to have begun upon good intention, is environment sensitivity, human rights and democracy, we would like to whole-heartedly discuss them with our interlocutors,» told Arinc.

Arinc also noted that the incidents have further perspectives such as their effect on Turkey's security, finance and reputation abroad, saying «We keep on fighting against those endangering Turkey's security, finance and reputation abroad.»

Stressing that Turkey is a state of law, Arinc called on the protestors to have legal demands and use legal means to voice those demands.

«It is out of the question to offer demands in Turkey of 2013 and under AK Party rule such as 'We want their heads', 'Unseat them,' 'Release the detainees,' 'Do not touch those,' 'We want everywhere to do whatever we want.' I means you want also the release of those killing the police officers when you say "Annul all detentions and free them all. Do you ask us to take no legal action against those burning several police cars and ambulances?» Arinc said.

Upon a question on the effects of ten-day incidents on Turkish stock exchange Borsa Istanbul, Arinc said there is no obvious negative course in markets, only a 3 pct fall within the first days of the protests.
