European Crisis Response Department does not expect serious problems in Bulgaria
The European Crisis Response Department does not expect serious problems along the Bulgarian and the Romanian section of River Danube.
The announcement before the media was made in Brussels by Ionut Homeg who works as an expert in the center. He said that the institution is constantly monitoring the flow of the high waters along Danube and Elbe. In his words, the most-critical days are over, but they are yet to find out how the situation will look like along the lower stream of Danube.
Currently, our attention is focused over this river and we are waiting to see what will happen in Serbia, the southern parts of Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania, said Mr. Homeg. He specified that the European Department is in touch with the authorities of all EU member states which provide data on a daily basis. So far there was no assistance request, concluded the expert.
