“Aeroflot” is ready to establish a low-cost company in 2014
OJSC Aeroflot – Russian Airlines is ready to establish a subsidiary company, specialized in low-cost transportation, in the first half of 2014.
According to Aeroflot General Manager Vitaly Savelyev, this is possible, if by the end of 2013 the State Duma adopts a number of legislation amendments, allowing airlines to cut down the self-cost of the transportation.
The company is already involved in some preparation works: it selects managers for the new transporter and carries out negotiations with aircraft suppliers.
Aeroflot believes that the new airlines will reach the breakeven point in 2 years after the start of its operations.
