Ukraine considering creation of grain pool with Russia
The Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine is considering the creation of a grain pool with Russia.
First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Ivan Bisiuk said this at a briefing on Monday.
"The idea of creating the pool is interesting, but only if the interests of Ukraine are not infringed upon," he said.
As reported, in 2009, the Ukrainian Grain Association said it thinks that a joint grain union with Russia and Kazakhstan is disadvantageous to Ukraine.
In 2007, the Russian Grain Union initiated the creation of the Black Sea grain pool consisting of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, with the possible further accession to it of other countries, such as Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey.
