Wizz Air requests Russia’s help in opening a subsidiary airline company at its territory
Hungarian low-cost Wizz Air considers the possibility for establishment of a subsidiary airline in Russia, if such initiative gets the support from the Russian authorities.
Such information has been announced by the airlines CEO József Váradi.
“Wizz Air is quite positive about the establishment of a branch office in Russia (similar to Wizz Air Ukraine), if we see the support from the local authorities”, - he has noted and added that "this is a quite remote perspective".
Wizz Air received the permission for its Budapest-Moscow flights from Russian air transport authorities in almost a year after this flight had been approved by the Hungarian air transport authorities.
In perspective Wizz Air plans to launch flights from Budapest to Saint Petersburg. Another destination – from Kyiv to Moscow – is yet to be agreed by the Ukrainian subsidiary of Wizz Air with the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency.
