Ukrainians cut petrol consumption by 6.6% in H1, 2013
Petrol consumption in Ukraine in January-June 2013 shrank by 6.6% compared to the same period in 2012, to 1.85 million tons, the press service of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has reported.
According to statistics published on the website of the ministry, petrol consumption in June 2013 fell by 2.4% compared to June 2012, to 355,000 tons, and diesel fuel consumption shrank by 1.6%, to 473,400 tons.
The use of diesel fuel in January-June 2013 declined 3.6% year-over-year, to 2.532 million tons.
In addition, according to the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry, petrol production in the first six months of 2013 halved compared to the same period last year, to 510,200 tons, whereas diesel fuel production fell by 40.8%, to 469,200 tons.
As reported, petrol consumption in Ukraine in 2012 fell by 2.6% compared to 2011, to 4.197 million tons.
