Georgian wine exports grow 25%
At a meeting July 29 with reporters in the framework of the project "The Government of Georgia for open government", the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Shalva Pipia, reported on the achievements of his department.
According to him, exports of Georgian wine rose nearly 25%, with the top five importing countries being Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia and Poland.
"Georgian wine exports have increased 24%. Together with Russia, there is a significant increase of exports to other countries as well. The volume of Georgian wine exported to Russia amounted to 1,759,670 bottles. In June alone, we have exported 1,630,612 litres to 18 countries," Georgia Online quotes the Minister.
According to Shalva Pipia, Georgian mineral water is arriving on the Russian market in a comparable volume.
