Odessa port to launch Electronic Document Management in autumn
Odessa port is currently implementing the pilot project of the Port Community Uniformed Information System. The Illichivsk Sea Commercial Port is next in the project.
According to Yuri Vaskov, Acting Manager of the Ukrainian Sea Port Administration, at present this project is worked out in the test mode. Odessa port intends to refuse from paper carriers already in autumn and to switch to the electronic variant of the first stage of container registration.
The project is implemented jointly with customs and border guard personnel. Project’s major objective is to unify the process of cargo forwarding and to make it faster and more transparent.
According to foreign shipping companies, representatives of controlling agencies put up to 96 signatures on the documents of vessels, calling in a Ukrainian port.
