Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to visit Moldova in September
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill will pay a visit to Moldova on 7-8 September.
The secretary of the Metropolitan See of Moldova, Vadim Cheibas, has told MOLDPRES that Patriarch Kirill would officiate a religious service at the Chisinau-based Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral.
At the same time, His Holiness will participate in a festivity organised by the Metropolitan See of Moldova at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Chisinau Diocese’s foundation.
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia will also visit the Capriana Monastery, where there is the grave of one of the founders of the Chisinau Diocese, Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni.
The agenda of his visit also includes a trip to Tiraspol. His Holiness is to meet Bishop Savva. The Diocese of Tiraspol and Dubasari is a component diocese of the Metropolitan See of Chisinau and all Moldova.
Patriarch Kirill paid his last visit to Moldova in 2011.
