Project on construction of dry cargo district in Taman port is under state expert appraisal
All necessary approvals, like ecological approval, have been obtained for the project on construction of a new dry cargo district in port Taman. The project is currently under the state expert appraisal.
According to the records of the meeting on developing ports in the Azov and Black Sea basins, this was announced by RF Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov.
The Minister emphasized that the project is primarily focused on transshipment of Russian export cargoes. According to the project documentation, there will be built 10 marine terminals for handling of containerized cargo, iron ore, coal metals, sulphur and grain.
“The project’s essential characteristic is its complementarity in respect to the projects of other ports…. Port Taman does not compete with other ports, but considerably supplements them,” Sokolov said.
