National Bank of Moldova surpasses Eastern European average in terms of transparency
With 8 out of a maximum of 15 points, the National Bank of Moldova exceeds the Eastern European average of 7.6 points and is among the most transparent financial institutions. The bank surpasses Romania, Ukraine and Russia, according to a study by economists Barry Eichengreen and Nergiz Dincer.
The study shows that the European average is 8.4 points. The central banks from Sweden, New Zealand, Hungary, the Czech Republic and the UK were evaluated as the most transparent.
Hungary has the best position in the Eastern Europe, with an almost maximal number of points (13.5), whereas Russia ranks last with only three points.
