Prime Minister Iurie Leanca on 24 September will participate in the launch of the first low-cost Chisinau-Rome flight by WIZZ AIR Company. The latter will also make low-cost flights to Venice Treviso, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Iurie Leanca informed about the entrance of the greatest low-cost flights operator from the Central and Eastern Europe, WIZZ AIR, on the Moldovan market during the first visit to Brussels in his tenure of prime minister, at a meeting with the head of the above-mentioned company, Gyorgy Abran.

Leanca said that, by this event, the government kept its promise made at the Diaspora’s Congress in October 2012, according to which the citizens will be able to feel the benefits of the signing of the Moldova-European Union Common Aviation Area agreement in 2013.

The former Moldovan prime minister, Vlad Filat, signed this agreement in Brussels on 26 June 2012. The agreement’s chief negotiator on behalf of Moldova was the secretary general of the government, Victor Bodiu.
