Kyiv, Tallinn agree to develop traffic between Black, Baltic Seas
A protocol of intent has been signed between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia on cooperation in the development of the transport corridor between the Baltic and Black Seas on Tuesday in Tallinn, in the presence of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
The press office of the Ukrainian president said in a statement.
The protocol provides for the creation of favorable conditions for the development of transport connections between the Black and the Baltic Seas, expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of logistics, transportation of goods and passengers. Special attention is paid to the growth of potential and competitiveness of the Zubr container train.
The signing of the documents would, among other things, expand the number of countries participating in the existing route at the expense of other stakeholders, in particular Turkey and the Scandinavian countries.
