BG prison guards also out on a protest due to low salaries – prisoners receive more money from 2014
About 90 officers from Vratsa's prison gave a start of the Bulgaria-wide protest wave of prison guards, organized by their trade union.
While the 2014 budget provides for more money per prisoner from 2014, the salaries of their guards remained unchanged at BGN 598 for a regular and BGN regular 670 for a senior officer.
At the same time, the cost of a prisoner is BGN 1,000 per month.
The men who guard them receive only BGN 400 for clothing, which is only about enough for a winter suit and boots.
The prison guards from Vratsa will join the national strike of their colleagues across Bulgaria on November 9 at the Ministry of Justice in Sofia.
