Throughput of Batumi Sea Port up 13.6% to 1.48 mln t in Jan-Oct’13
In January-October 2013, Batumi Sea Port handled 1.48 mln t of dry cargo (+13.6%, year-on-year), the port’s press center says.
Transit cargo accounted for 39% of the port’s total throughput with import holding the second place (36%).
In the reported period, the port handled 610 vessels (+16 vessels, year-on-year).
The port of Batumi is located in the south-east of the Black Sea. The port occupies 22.2 hectares. There are 11 berths and 16,412 square meters of covered storage facilities. The port facilities include an oil terminal, a container terminal, a berth complex for ferries, dry cargo terminal and a passenger terminal.
