Ukraine will sign gas contract with Slovakia next week – Stavytsky
A contract between Ukraine and Slovakia on gas reverse supply may be signed just next week.
Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky has said in Vilnius, the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty informs.
“Slovakia has already sent a contract to Ukraine, we are now working. And we will sign it next week,” he said noting that the matter concerns the supply of up to 10 billion cu m of gas annually.
As reported, gas supplies via the Slovakian reverse corridor, the most perspective for Ukraine, was blocked by Gazprom.
Over nine months of this year, 1.5 billion cu m of gas came to Ukraine via Poland and Hungary. According to the balance forecast, in 2013, Ukraine planned to import about 27 billion cu m of gas: 18 billion cu m from Gazprom, 1.3 billion cu m from RWE Company, and 8 billion cu m from Ostchem by Dmytro Firtash. In early October, Gazprom sold 5 billion cu m of gas to this company at USD 260 for pumping to underground storages.
