225 tankers exported crude oil and petroleum products from Russian Black Sea ports in April 2024: The database

The Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies and BlackSeaNews, based on the results of its own monitoring, presents a database of seaborne exports of crude oil and petroleum products from Russian ports on the Black and Azov Seas in April 2024. In total, in April 2024, 225 tankers exported oil and petroleum products from Russian ports (excluding exports to Bulgaria and Romania). They transported a total of about 14.6 million tons of cargo, including 4.1 million tons of Russian crude oil (34 tankers), 6.9 million tons of Kazakh CPC crude oil (50 tankers), and 3.6 million tons of Russian petroleum products (141 tankers).

In April 2024, 57 violations of the export of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) from the Baltic Sea were recorded. 3.7 mln tons of Russian petroleum products were delivered through the Russian ports of the Baltic Sea.

In April 2024, 13 violations (877.976 tons) of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) to the transshipment points and EU ports from the Baltic Sea were recorded. The voyages were made by tankers belonging to shipowners registered in the following countries: Greece, Croatia, Marshall Islands, Turkey, India, Singapore, Italy, Norway and Seychelles.

The Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies and BlackSeaNews, based on the results of its own monitoring, presents a database of seaborne exports of crude oil and petroleum products from Russian ports on the Black and Azov Seas in March 2024. In total, in March 2024, 247 tankers exported oil and petroleum products from Russian ports (excluding exports to Bulgaria and Romania). They transported a total of about 15 million tons of cargo, including 4.3 million tons of Russian crude oil (36 tankers), 6.6 million tons of Kazakh CPC crude oil (48 tankers), and 4.1 million tons of Russian petroleum products (163 tankers).

In March 2024, 5 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil from the Black Sea were recorded. One of them involved the delivery of crude oil to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece. Another four violations were the shipments of crude oil from Novorossiysk directly to the ports of Italy, Greece and Spain. Four voyages were made by tankers belonging to companies from Greece. Shipowner from UAE performed one voyage. In March 2024, a total of 696,330 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered to the EU in violation of the embargo, compared with 841,132 tons in February 2024.

In March 2024, 33 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) from the Black Sea were recorded. 2 direct voyages with petroleum products from Russian ports to the ports of EU countries and the US were made. The remaining 31 violations involved the delivery of petroleum products to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece. In March 2024, 84,445 tons of Russian petroleum products were delivered directly to the ports of EU countries and the US and 1,074,626 tons were shipped to the transshipment point.

In February 2024, 30 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) from the Black Sea were recorded. 3 direct voyages with petroleum products from Russian ports to the ports of EU countries were made. The remaining 27 violations involved the delivery of petroleum products to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece and Malta. In Ferbuary 2024, 101,651 tons of Russian petroleum products were delivered directly to the ports of EU countries and 1,179,572 tons were shipped to the transshipment point.

Three of them involved the delivery of crude oil to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece. Another four violations were the shipments of crude oil from Novorossiysk directly to the ports of Italy. Four voyages were made by tankers belonging to companies from Greece. Shipowners from Malaysia, Seychelles and Moldova performed one voyage each. In February 2024, a total of 841,132 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered to the EU in violation of the embargo, compared with 910,800 tons in January 2024.

In total, in February 2024, 229 tankers exported oil and petroleum products from Russian ports (excluding exports to Bulgaria and Romania). They transported a total of about 16.3 million tons of cargo, including 4.2 million tons of Russian crude oil (34 tankers), 8.2 million tons of Kazakh CPC crude oil (61 tankers), and 3.9 million tons of Russian petroleum products (134 tankers).

In January 2024, 29 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) from the Black Sea were recorded. 5 direct voyages with petroleum products from Russian ports to the ports of EU countries, as well as two direct voyages to the ports of the USA were made. The remaining 22 violations involved the delivery of petroleum products to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece. In January 2024, 183,031 tons of Russian petroleum products were delivered directly to the ports of EU countries and the US and 907,226 tons were shipped to the transshipment point.

In January 2024, 7 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil from the Black Sea were recorded. Four of them involved the delivery of crude oil to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece. Another three violations were the shipments of crude oil from Novorossiysk directly to the ports of TRIESTE, Italy; PACHI, Greece and CARTAGENA, Spain. Five voyages were made by tankers belonging to companies from Greece. Shipowners from Marshall Islands and Hong Kong, China performed one voyage each. In January 2024, a total of 910,800 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered to the EU in violation of the embargo, compared with 784,566 tons in December 2023.
