In January 2025, 4 violations (180.393 tons) of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) to the transshipment points and EU/US ports from the Baltic Sea were recorded. The voyages were made by tankers belonging to shipowners registered in the following countries: Greece, Turkey, Singapore and Croatia.

In January 2025, 19 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) from the Black Sea were recorded. 16 of violations involved the delivery of petroleum products to a transshipment points off the coasts of Greece, Romania and Cyprus. 3 direct voyages were made to the ports of the EU countries. In January 2025, 682.842 tons of Russian petroleum products were delivered in violation of the embargo.

In January 2025, 6 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil from the Black Sea were recorded. One was involved the delivery of crude oil to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece. Five direct voyages were made to the ports of the EU countries. In January 2025, a total of 766.315 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered to the EU in violation of the embargo.

In January 2025, for attacks from Crimea on the Ukrainian regions the Russian Armed Forces used no less than 4 Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles from ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, 8 Iskander-type ballistic missiles, 573 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs launched simultaneously from Crimea and Russian regions, 68 reconnaissance UAVs of various types.

The situation in the Black Sea in the coming year will remain volatile with a tendency towards increased military risks. This will amplify the risks to the EU countries in the Black Sea – Romania and Bulgaria – as well as to Moldova and Turkey. Over the years of the Crimean Peninsula occupation, Russia has established a powerful land force there, including modern missile and aviation branches of its armed forces, with a developed logistics infrastructure for supplying troops, including through transport links with the Russian mainland – both via sea vessels and the so-called Crimean Bridge.

In December 2024, 22 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian petroleum products (excluding crude oil) from the Black Sea were recorded. 20 of violations involved the delivery of petroleum products to a transshipment points off the coasts of Greece, Italy and Romania. 2 direct voyages were made to the ports of the EU countries and the US. In December 2024, 923.547 tons of Russian petroleum products were delivered in violation of the embargo.

In December 2024, 5 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil from the Black Sea were recorded. They involved the delivery of crude oil to the ports of the EU countries. In December 2024, a total of 646.826 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered to the EU in violation of the embargo.

In January-December 2024, for attacks on the regions of Ukraine from the occupied Crimea, Russian Armed Forces used no less than: 147 Kalibr cruise missiles, 186 Iskander missiles,1 P-800 Oniks anti-ship missiles and 6 3M22 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles; 2,699 Shahed-136/131 launched simultaneously from Crimea and Russian regions, 368 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs, launched solely from Crimea, and 309 reconnaissance UAVs of various types.
