Russian Crude Oil Imports to the EU Embargo Through the Russian Baltic Sea Ports: Database of July 2024 Violations

The Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies and BlackSeaNews reports on the results of its own monitoring of violations of the embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil into EU countries in July 2024 through the Russian ports on the Baltic Sea (see Table 1).

In July 2024, 3 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil from the Baltic Sea were recorded.
Two voyages were performed directly to the ports of the EU countries. One voyage was involved the delivery of crude oil to the transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coasts of Greece.
The voyages were made by tankers belonging to shipowners registered in the following countries: Greece (2) and China (1).
In July 2024, 431.524 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered in violation of the embargo through the Russian Baltic Sea ports.
