Turkey to reach $20 bln-auto export figure by end 2012
The Chairman of the Executive Board of Turkey's Union of Automotive Industry Exporters (OIB), Orhan Sabuncu on Sunday said that «while Turkish automotive exports dropped 17 percent in August compared to the same month last year, they would continue to work so the automotive industry's export figures reach 20 billion USD by end 2012».
In a written statement released in response to a report by the automotive industry, Sabuncu stated that the decline in automotive exports in August were mainly due to the economic crisis in the EU.
«Automotive exports constituted 13 percent of all Turkish exports in the first eight months of 2012. The Turkish automotive sector's sales to foreign countries were worth 12.5 billion USD in the first eight months of 2012,» Sabuncu underlined.
