BAS receives USD 5 donation for cyclotron center

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov presented, on the part of the Kozloduy NPP, a donation to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) amounting to USD 2 million for the construction of a cyclotron center at the Institute for Nuclear Studies and Atomic Energy at the BAS.

US Ambassador to Bulgaria James Warlick presented a donation of USD 3 million for the purpose. «Through this donation we give a clear sign of the good relations between scientists from the US and Bulgaria», – H.E. James Warlick said on the occasion. The cyclotron center would derive radioisotopes for the early diagnostics of cancer.
