Lesser Olympics will start in Sochi in October

This name is used for test competitions that will be conducted at all Olympic sites.

More than 40 competitions, national and international, are to take place. The first contest in Sochi will start in 3 weeks.

From 5 to 7 October the Federation Cup in Figure Skating will be held at the "Iceberg" Ice Palace.

Major contests will take place at the mountain cluster sites: World Cup in Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard and World Cup in Biathlon.

The first spectators will be able to visit the Olympic sites in December, when the coastal cluster will host the Finals of International Grand Prix in Figure Skating. Big Ice Arena is getting ready to host Junior World Hockey Championship next spring.
