Nearly 3.2 million students started 2012-2013 academic and school year in Romania on September 17

According to the Education Ministry, out of nearly 3,200,000 students, who started the 2012-2013 academic year on September 17, nearly 925,000 are primary school students, including the preparatory year, nearly 800,000 are secondary school students, nearly 850,000 are high school and vocational school students and over 600,000 are preschoolers.

Out of the 925,000 primary school students, more than 128,000 were enrolled in the preparatory year and nearly 171,000 in the first grade, in the 2012-2013 academic year.

In Bucharest City alone, there are almost 220,000 students and preschoolers combined and 424 schoolhouses, 127 of which are kindergartens.
