All-Russian training muster for mountain rescue badge is held in North Ossetia

Tenth all-Russian training muster for mountain rescue badge is held in North Ossetia at mountain rescue center Tsey since September 18.

The muster is being attended by certified rescuers and staff members of Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters. 25 people are participants of the muster which along with classical rescue techniques are testing new methods of training for rescue operations in mountains. Methodical ascending is included in the program for the first time.

The work of participants is being evaluated based on the results of the educational process, tests and results of several musters. In case of success employees of Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters will be put in the honorable list of 259 owners of a badge trained in previous years.

We remind that Rescue in Mountains is a joined program of Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, Rock Climbing Federation of Russia and Russian Union of Rescuers. Training program for public rock climbing rescuers for the mountain rescue badge was developed by Rock Climbing Federation based on the Soviet training program for mountain rescue badge.

The decision to resume the training program of public rock climbing rescuers was made by the Conference of Rock Climbing Federation of Russia in 2006. Sportsmen qualifying for 1 rating of rock climbing and Candidate Masters of Rock Climbing Tourism are only allowed to participate in the muster. The first badges were received in spring 2007. Over the past years 259 rescuers became owners of mountain rescue badges.
