Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan want part in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project
Turkmen and Uzbek Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Islam Karimov signed a joint declaration in Ashkhabad to realize the Navoi-Turkmenbashi-Baku-Tbilisi-Kars transportation project, Trend reports.
The sides will encourage regional and interregional cooperation in transportation and transit, communications, energy, exploitation of natural resources and environmental protection.
Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are realizing the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway project to connect China and Central Asia. The railway will transport up to 30 million tons of cargo from Asia to Europe annually.
They are also concluding the Marmaris project, a tunnel under Bosporus to give direct access to Europe.
