Fire destroyed 17 hectares of grass and forest next to Sevastopol

According to the press service of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, about 40 servicemen of the Ukrainian Navy participated in extinguishing of the fire in the mountains by the Mekenzie Heights.

A column of several fire fighting vehicles and trucks with military personnel arrived at the site of fire after a 25-kilometer drive. 

Altogether about 70 people and 15 vehicles of Ministry of Emergency Situations and forest-hunting range were involved at the scene of the fire.

The fire, which covered 10 hectares of dry grass and about 3 hectares of forest, was contained though gusty wind and darkness made fire extinguishing quite complicated.
