Kliuyev: Crimea ranks 4th on capital investment
The Autonomous Republic of Crimea is confidently turning into one of the points of economic growth in Ukraine.
Crimea in 2012 took the fourth place after the city of Kyiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions in terms of capital investment, Andriy Kliuyev, head of the Party of Region's campaign office, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), said commenting on the outcome of the III International Black Sea Economic Forum, held in Yalta October 4-5.
«The task set by the President of Ukraine to turn Crimea into a center of economic and social development of our country is being confidently fulfilled. Slower than we expected, but it is being fulfilled,» said Kliuyev.
He said that according to the State Statistics Service, if the Ukrainian average capital investment in 2011 grew by 18%, so in Crimea it was 156%. The official added that this year capital investment is growing faster. If on average in the country in the first half of the year it rose by 30% compared to the same period last year, in Crimea - by 172%.
At the same time, according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the potential of the Crimea requires further increase in the flow of investment.
