Bulgaria’s population may drop below 7 million by year end
If the negative growth rate continues, the population of Bulgaria may drop below 7 million people by the end of the year, said Trendafil Mitev from the Center for Demographic Policy.
In his words between 50 and 60 thousand children are born in this country per year, which is quite less than in previous years. The demographic crisis is deepening even further due to migration processes. According to figures, every year, due to the emigration of economically active persons the population of Bulgaria decreases by about 35-40 thousand people.
