Ministry of Culture suggests regulation of room costs at Olympic Sochi hotels

The Ministry of Culture recommends fixing the maximum costs of stay at hotels during the Olympic Games.

According to the plan, the costs of rooms at five-star hotels must not exceed 13896 rubles. The price for the cheapest rooms at hotels of one-star and two-star categories and the so-called “mini hotels” will vary from 2.9 thousand to 4 thousand rubles.

The draft of the resolution specifies that, subject to any overpricing for hotel services, regulated by the Government, all persons and entities caught shall be held liable in accordance with the Russian Federation legislation.

27 thousand new hotel rooms will be developed in Sochi by Olympic Games 2014.
