Chacha Tower opened in Batumi
It was opened on October 11 by Jemal Ananidze, the City Mayor, and Levan Varshalomidze, the Head of the Government.
«This will be a fountain tower, ejecting Georgian chacha instead of water, and all those who so desire, our citizens, foreign guests and tourists will be able to taste it», – Giorgi Kirtadze, the Chairman of the Batumi city assembly, declared in March 2012, when the information on its construction became known to the public.
Chacha will flow once a week for 15 minutes, but the public, gathering at the grand opening, could drink chacha not from the fountain, but from a special device.
Construction of the 25-meter high Chacha Tower has been financed by the City Hall.
