Romania has opened the largest private thermal power plant

The largest oil and gas producer in South Eastern Europe OMV Petrom has launched gas power plant in Romanian community of Brazi. The company spent € 530 million on the plant’s construction and start-up.

The plant will emit into the air twice less carbon than similar stations, and will provide up to 9% of Romania’s energy needs. The company’s representatives said, they were planning to start constructing two more similar plants of much less power within a year.
