Sochi 2014 Organizational Committee presented a series of stamps with winter sports

Sochi 2014 Organizational Committee, together with «Publishing and Commercial Center «Stamp» and «Russian Post» enterprises, have conducted a grand ceremony on commemorative cancellation of postage stamps of the «XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi» series.

The issue of 2012 continues the series, started in 2011. This time it covers downhill skiing, snowboarding, skating, skeleton, tobogganing, and freestyle.

These new philatelic items can be purchased at all post office of the country, as well through the internet shop «Sochi 2014».

The following sportsmen are depicted at the issued stamps against the snowflake background: a downhill skier; a snowboarder, catching the snowboard’s front with his hand; two skaters; a sportsman, speeding up the skeleton; a tobogganer at the track; and a freestyler, making a backward somersault.

The nominal value of each stamp is 25 rubles.
