Construction of Romanian-Bulgarian pipeline Giurgiu–Ruse will be completed in 2013

Gas pipeline Giurgiu-Ruse that passes along the bottom of the Danube, connecting Romania and Bulgaria, will be completed in the second half of 2013.

«At the meeting with our Bulgarian colleagues, we agreed to accelerate the pace of construction and to commission the Giurgiu-Ruse pipeline by the end of 2013», - said Romania’s Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Environment state secretary Mr. Rodin Traicu.

He noted that the facility should have an important role in ensuring energy security of the two countries.

The state secretary also said that «the pipeline will become part of the Nabucco project ».
