Romania decided to complete Bucharest – Danube canal construction

Romania has made a decision to revive one of the Nicolae Ceausescu’s epoch major projects.

As stated by Daniel Georgescu, National Navigation Canal Administration Manager, the authorities consider the possibility of completion of the Bucharest – Danube canal construction.

The proposition includes attraction of foreign investors for implementation of the project, commenced back in 1984. The launch of ship navigation is scheduled for 2017.
