Romania plans to change Constitution before June 2013
In case the parliamentary election, scheduled for December 9, 2012, is won by the ruling Social Liberal Union (Social Democratic Party, the National Liberal and Conservative Parties), they are planning to change the country’s Constitution before June 2013.
This has been announced by one of the coalition leaders, Prime Minister of Romania, Victor Ponta.
According to Victor Ponta, amendments to the Basic Law will include restrictions of the President’s and Constitutional Court’s authorities, as well as administrative and territorial reform in the country.
Victor Ponta has called people from the opposing Liberal Democratic Party to take active part in developing and adopting amendments to the Constitution.
