New Georgian authorities to increase the military budget

The State Budget of Georgia provides for 690 million lari ($418 million) for defense in 2013 – this information was announced by Irakliy Sesiashvili, Chairman of the Parliament Defense and National Security Committee, on November 28.

This amount exceeds the 2012 military budget by $9 million.

This is the first time the budget is made by the «Georgian Dream». It will be approved in December.

«Our main objectives is to arrange correct planning and implementation of military reforms, – Irakliy Sesiashvili has declared. – The provided amounts may probably be insufficient, but they will help at the first stage of the implementation process».
