Turkey to diversify nuclear power plant builders
Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz told his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak in Istanbul that Ankara will consider offers of Canada, Japan, South Korea and China before hiring Rosatom to build the nuclear power plant at Sinop. He expressed hope that negotiations will end before the end of the year.
Rosatom is the main partner in building the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Mersin. Its construction should start in spring 2013.
Novak added that 24 rounds of talks on construction of the Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline had been held. He noted that the negotiations may start again.
