Turkish company opened regular ferry line between Turkey and Israel / MAP / PHOTO

On November 20, 2012 Turkish shipping company «Sisa Shipping» launched regular ferry transportation between Iskenderun and Haifa.

The trip lasts for 12 hours. The line uses the chartered Greek ro-ro ferry boat NISSOS RODOS.

This is the first example of the regular navigation between Turkey and Israel. The line has been launched despite the aggravation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

The ferry boat’s capacity is 748 cars, 115 trailers, and 1126 passengers in summer and 860 passengers in winter.
