Transportation centre will open in Sochi

Logistics transport centre to manage passenger and cargo traffic will be opened in Sochi. It is being constructed in the resort’s Central district.

It is supposed that the transportation centre will be a unique one in Russia, where technologies of managing all modes of transport (rail, road and sea) using GLONASS will be introduced for the first time.

Besides, a single integrated information complex will be developed for transport companies and their customers.

The centre will become operational 9 months before the 2014 Olympics. After the Games, it will perform the functions of managing road movement and passenger traffic, as well as organizing movement of specialized transport of housing and communal services, ambulance and fire services.
