Turkey wants more gas from Russia
Botas (Turkey) is negotiating an increase of gas supplies with Gazprom (Russia) via the western route. Botas wants to buy additional 1 billion cubic meters of gas, Trend reports.
Botas refused to extend the 25-year contract on gas purchases, saying that Gazprom prices were too high. But a long-term deal was signed between Gazprom and Turkish private companies in late November.
Russia supplied Turkey with the majority of the 39.7 billion cubic meters imported in 2011. Iran and Azerbaijan are the second largest gas suppliers of Turkey.
